Finally went to the local library and borrowed Chester Brown’s Paying For It and I must say it’s beyond what I expected in all the right ways.
As per the description on Amazon’s product page:
Paying for It offers an entirely contemporary exploration of sex work―from the timid john who rides his bike to his escorts, wonders how to tip so as not to offend, and reads Dan Savage for advice, to the modern-day transactions complete with online reviews, seemingly willing participants, and clean apartments devoid of clichéd street corners, drugs, or pimps.
The book has been a fascinating read into the life of a man whose way of thinking isn’t very distant from mine. I’m returning the book to the library today and expect to have a review soon.
