The much anticipated Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, the sequel to 2012’s retro fuck ’em-up, is coming out next year and its soundtrack is as if not more anticipated than the game itself, which is why Devolver Digital is giving both a very special treatment.
Hotline Miami’s soundtrack is one of the best in any industry, with great jams from artists like M.O.O.N., Perturbator, El Huervo and Jasper Byrne. That last one has posted two of the four tracks he contributed to Hotline Miami 2’s playlist, which is now on digital pre-order for $5 USD and releases on January 2nd (that’s next Friday!).
As was expected, we’re getting a healthy dose of more 80’s action flick music for this neon-noir story. The soundtrack will come out early next year and will feature new artists such as Magic Sword and Megadrive.
The full playlist hasn’t been revealed yet, but Dennaton Games has already announced a collector’s edition with three vinyl discs and brutal art courtesy of Niklas “El Huervo”Åkerblad. The collector’s edition also packs a digital copy of the game, a collectible phone card (you read me) and all 28 tracks in digital format, for $60 USD. It drops in Q1 2015.
