Devil's Cheerleaders Black Cheer Version

Devil’s Cheerleaders Black Cheer Version

The masked Japanese monster, Rockin’ Jelly Bean, has banded together with WING to produce Devil’s Cheerleaders Black Cheer, the second edition of a beautiful PVC figure based on one of his devilishly erotic illustrations.

If you don’t know by now, Rockin’ Jelly Bean is the alter ego of some masked man whose been producing wickedly good (and NSFW) art since the early 90s. His style is very much influenced by Ed “Big Daddy” Roth and Robert Williams, arguably the biggest staples of low brow punk pulp art.

This time, the man in the luchador mask has brought his talents to the world of collectibles with this 270mm (10.62″) tall rendition of an original illustration he did for a fake film called Devils’ Cheerleaders with the following synopsis (corrected English by me):

Salar is a cheerleader for St. Irving High School who was enjoying life with her classmates until one day Bryan, who plays quarterback for the school’s football team, was killed.

She was suspicious of Howard Stanton High School’s football team, so she decided to sneak into their school to find the killer, only to discover that the school was being controlled by a satanist.

Ok. I can roll with that. It seems rare to me that a one-shot figure would get a story of it’s own, but I guess it adds to the value behind her aesthetic and all the stuff going on in that one collectible statue.

The bad news is that the original version with the yellow and blue colors is gone since it came out last year, but the upside is that there’s a new “Black Cheer” version with pre-orders starting on June 16th, 2015 (hey, that’s next week!).

The figure will cost ¥15,000 (roughly $121 USD) like the original version and it will be limited to just 800 pieces. You can get in on the action here.

Aside from the typical product shots, take a gander at the awesomely sexy art by RJB. You’re welcome.
