Crying is the new hotness in the rock/chiptunes scene, following on the footsteps of that other New York band, Anamanaguchi, with a different and cozy sound coming from Elaiza Santos, whose voice and the use of a Game Boy replace the classic NES to blip to the tune of a guitar and drums.
As is the case with many chiptune covers, I like this version of “The Mother We Share” way more than the original by CHVRCHES, probably because of Nick Corbo’s drums which turn this jam into a certified bicycle tune. More, please!
The guys at ohnoimlateforschool say there’s two more songs in this set, but right now we gotta wait till next week to see how they sound. On my part, I’m gonna turn this video into an mp3 and cross my fingers so they make a studio version soon.
