Here’s a quick gallery of posters and flyers that I saw during my visit to the Rote Fabrik cultural center and concert hall in Zurich. The place has been recently attracting artists from the indie rap scene and some really impressive acts that I never knew would play in Switzerland.
I’m still working on this month’s new playlist, but for now I leave you with another excellent cover from the Like A Version series. It’s Thelma Plum doing her own take on Chet Faker’s ‘Gold’. Continue reading Thelma Plum • Gold (Chet Faker Cover)
Here’s a new playlist that’s ready to get out of the oven.
A list of songs for looking out the window on a snowy/rainy Thursday afternoon with mostly slow jams and beats from the likes of Odd Future, T-Pain, Childish Gambino and Mike Eagle among others. Enjoy.
It’s been a long time coming, but I finally took the time to do it and on this sunny Sunday I can show you the new way I’ll share music in Astromono: playlists on Soundcloud!
Make the jump to know a bit more about what I’m hoping to do.
Chløë Black is gearing up for her debut in the house of pop and big beat, filling the hole that Lana Del Rey opened, but won’t touch anymore.
27 Club is a single from her first album which will feature producers like Jim Elliot and co-writers like Justin Parker (Del Rey’s “Video Games”) and Arcade (Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy”). It’s the first I’ve ever heard of Black, but it sounds as if the Australian born, LA and Paris raised girl was a robot engineered by the pop agenda to kills us all, which I can dig because this jam is dope.
I’m not digging Go Dark’s music too much, to be honest, but that hasn’t stopped me from playing the biscuits out of this mini-game they made for the launch of their new EP called BitchSword.
Australian producer Kilter teams up with Tkay Maidza, a newcomer in the rap scene straight out of Adelaide in the south of Australia.
This one comes out of Maidza’s new Switch Tape Mix Tape where she mixes rap with electro beats. This one I liked a lot because it feels like a beach jam on Sunday morning and I haven’t been to the beach in a while.
Wayne Wade – Lady was one of the jams we found in Papsoul’s mixtape while he drove us in his blue Opel Corsa across the Belgian-German border. This cover of Kenny Rogers’ classic was piled up inside a USB drive along with reggae roots remixes of Adele songs and more.
I’m thinking of making a series of mixtapes or articles that share more music in a short span of time. I just have way too many jams to share and this one-song-a-day deal ain’t working for me!
In fact I have the festival’s full program after the jump if you feel like digging for more awesome music like this. Continue reading Cheaters – Sundial
